Is Romance Dead?
Don't you just love to watch an old-fashioned love movie? The kind that lifts your spirit and transports you to a wonderful place filled with love and romance. I know many old and new films that deliver on all those things, but they aren't as popular as other trendy movies nowadays.
In real life, we rarely hear about people courting anymore. Everything's so fast. Online dating is all the rave leaving very little opportunity to get to know someone on a deeper level. Instead, appearance and preparing how to behave and what to say are more important than engaging and getting to know someone without pretence.
aWe rarely hear about people who meet and fall in love after a few dates, since first impressions and superficial small talk precede meaningful conversations.
But surely, the best date is the kind where two people convey an insight into who they are as opposed to inventing themselves to attract the right person?
On that note, I'm off to watch one of my favourite movies and enter into a world of romance where men and women celebrate being in love and finding happiness.
Just like the legendary composer Burt Bacharach's famous song What The World Needs Now Is Love Sweet Love. I couldn't agree more. Love and romance provide an extra much-needed dimension in an increasingly impersonal society.

And a wish you a very Happy Valentine's Day.
